A Journey Guided by Mushrooms

Welcome to the Celestica by Ray Journal

Step in to the mushroom world.

This is a place where curiosity meets lifestyle. Where nature quietly teaches patience, balance and respect. For me this journey started long before supplements labels or a brand. It started with the forest. With conversations. With observing how mushrooms show up in different forms and different moments of life.
At Celestica by Ray we do not only invite you to explore just our products. We invite you to dig deeper into the fungi world itself 🙂

Culinary mushrooms – where it all began

Culinary mushrooms

For me culinary mushrooms were the first doorway into the fungi world.
Picking mushrooms in the forest with my friend in South of Scotland was one of the very few moments in my life when my mind truly went quiet. While picking mushrooms I was not overthinking. I was not planning. I was not analysing. It felt like meditation without trying to meditate. I look forward to these moments every time I go visit her. She tells me where to look in the forest and what signs to pay attention to. Sharing practical tips on how to recognise good spots and how to prepare mushrooms once they are picked. She also shows me how to cook them properly. Keeping it simple. That ongoing exchange of knowledge is something I value deeply and still learn from. And if it comes to my favourite ones there are one and only – Chanterelles! I love how easy they are to recognise once you know what to look for and how they often appear in the same places year after year. Their flavour is mild but distinctive slightly peppery and earthy at the same time. They do not need much to taste good. A simple preparation with a little fat, salt and time is enough. For me chanterelles represent the simplicity of good food and the quiet satisfaction that comes from finding something yourself and treating it with care.

Psychedelic mushrooms – a chapter of awareness

A few years later mushrooms entered my life in a very different way.
During a period of mental health exploration, I experienced micro dosing as a personal and intentional practice.
This chapter was about awareness rather than escape. About learning to sit with emotions, patterns and inner dialogue. It taught me respect for the power of fungi and the importance of intentional education and responsibility. This is not a space of promotion. It is a space of honesty. Psychedelic mushrooms are part of the wider fungi story and ignoring that would mean ignoring their cultural and historical role. Understanding this realm deepened my respect for mushrooms as teachers rather than trends.

Functional mushrooms – from passion to purpose

Functional mushrooms entered my life naturally after years of exploring mushrooms in different forms. I was already curious. I was already paying attention to how my body and mind responded to nature based practices. Functional mushrooms felt like a practical continuation of that path. At first it was personal. I was testing. Observing. Learning what consistency really means. How small, daily rituals can quietly support focus, balance and energy over time. There was no rush and no expectation of instant results. I also saw a clear difference when my grandma started taking them as part of a regular routine and how it made her feel both physically and mentally at the age of 80. That experience reinforced my belief in consistency and quality rather than trends.
Functional mushrooms have deep roots in Asian medicine and have been used for centuries as part of daily wellbeing practices. In traditions such as Traditional Chinese Medicine and other East Asian systems mushrooms like Reishi, Lion’s Mane and Shiitake were valued not for quick effects but for their ability to support balance resilience and long term vitality.
Celestica by Ray was created from this understanding. Functional mushrooms are not new. What is new is how easily they fit into modern life when they are prepared properly and used with intention. My goal was to respect their long history while making them accessible clear and transparent for today.

Beyond products – digging deeper into the fungi world

the fungi world

My mission goes beyond capsules and gummies. I want to inspire curiosity.
To read more.
To learn more.
To look at mushrooms not as trends but as ancient allies.
Whether you are cooking with them, studying them or integrating them into your daily ritual, the fungi world has layers waiting to be discovered.
Welcome to that world – let mushrooms teach you something new.
